COMPILE IN THE WORKSHOP “SOLAR PV IN THE DISTRIBUTION GRID”

What: Workshop “Solar PV in the Distribution Grid”

Organization: iDistributedPV project (ICCS and HEDNO)

Where: Athens, Greece

When: 25th February 2020

How the story began:

The aim of iDistributedPV project is developing affordable integrated solutions to enhance the penetration of distributed solar PV (buildings) based on the effective integration of solar PV equipment, energy storage, monitoring and controlling strategies and procedures, active demand management, smart technologies and the integration of procedures in the power distribution system according to market criteria. The project develops the concept of “prosumer”: a player that consumes and produces electricity in his facilities (solar PV). iDistributedPV is the EU common place for enhancing the distributed solar PV: promoters, equipment manufacturers, DSOs, energy policy experts and R&D players will work together to develop affordable solutions and produce business and management models for these solutions.

The workshop:

On the 25th February 2020 iDistributedPV organized a workshop in Athens to inform about the results of the project. The project partners from NTUA and the Greek DSO, HEDNO, presented their work and results in all their pilot sites. Their work included financial tools for prosumers, cost analysis and technical issues arising from DER integration in the grid. Part of their focus was on energy communities.

The COMPILE project was also presented during the event by ICCS, emphasizing the work that is being done by the project partners on European frameworks regarding energy communities and collective self-consumption enabling prosumers to act on local level.
