COMPILE IN THE ENERGY COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY FORUM

What: COMPILE partners participated in the Energy Community Sustainability Forum

Energy Community Sustainability Forum was organised for the 4th time, this year as a virtual conference. It gathered Ministers and Deputy Ministers responsible for energy, environment and climate change of the Energy Community Contracting Parties, high-level officials of the European Commission, EU Member States and Contracting Parties as well as representatives of academia, civil society and non-governmental organisations.

The Forum focused on “How to reach a decarbonized future?” underlined the importance of establishing a new 2030 Energy Community legislative framework to raise the share of energy from renewable sources, improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

COMPILE partners Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ) and University of Ljubljana (UL), Faculty of Electrical Engineering participated as a speakers of the Panel 2 “Bottom-up energy transition initiatives: How to maximize their benefits to Energy Community citizens?”. Assoc. Prof. Andrej Gubina, UL, presented the Energy Community Maturity Framework which is being developed by COMPILE partner REScoop.eu.

The Sustainability Forum aims to gather all Energy Community stakeholders, with a specific emphasis on giving the floor to civil society organisations. The event is a continuation of the Civil Society Day organised by the Secretariat.
