Free webinar “Business model innovation in energy – the confluence of locality, digitization and sector coupling” was hosted by the EU research project E-LAND and its stakeholder innovation group (SIG). E-LAND project is an international project that develops a toolbox comprising of energy related business model innovation tools. By focusing on local energy islands E-LAND links the potential of digitalization to the coupling of different energy sectors.

The seminar was a follow-up activity from last year’s COMPILE stakeholder workshop in Brussels. Perspectives from H2020 COMPILE project were presented by Assoc. Prof. Andrej Gubina within the Session 2 “Community engagement and business models”. He focused on the progress in Work Package 2 (Foundations for demonstrations) and 4 (Energy community development) and highlighted the Energy Community Maturity Framework which is being developed by COMPILE partner REScoop.eu.

Participants in the webinar had the chance to provide feedback to the project’s concepts and gain insights on community engagement and business model innovation also for their own energy innovation projects. Although the event happened online, it was held in a very professional and interactive manner.
