TOWN KRIŽEVCI TO BECOME CARBON-NEUTRAL BY 2030

What: Town Križevci, one of the COMPILE pilot sites, is aiming to become carbon-neutral by 2030

Town Križevci in Croatia which is also the location of one of the COMPILE pilot sites has started its transformation toward being carbon-neutral. Together with other four cities in different Southeast European countries, it is part of a project “Transformation Financial Mechanism for Communities of Southeastern Europe”, led by Citizens’ Association SmartUp – Social Innovation Lab from North Macedonia. Other cities are Skopje (North Macedonia), Maribor (Slovenia), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Niš (Serbia).

Apart from the 2030 carbon-neutrality target, the objective is to transform these cities into some of the best possible places in Europe to live, work and visit by 2025.

The mentioned project is one of eleven projects selected by EIT Climate-KIC to receive funding as part of the Pandemic Response Projects, one of the two main tracks of activities of EIT Crisis Response Initiative.
